I want you to understand what’s happening

Man I’m going through a lot of stuff right now.
I don’t have a job, I can’t get the right medication for my depression,
I have no friends that live anywhere close to me and
I have a glimmer of hope.
It’s the last thing that is the most frustrating.
The Occupy movement  represents
the beginning
of a hope
for a new kind of world.
a break into a new kind of world
yet i don’t feel like
I am doing anything to promote it.
I’ve been trying to come up with a film
but i feel i haven’t put enough into it or
I don’t have the proper focus or
I’m just to lame to do anything.
But that’s enough of that,
I’ve come realize, take a lot of work and
I’m only one person working alone
so here’s what I’ve come up with so far.Actually I didn’t do much and this isn’t finished.
I just fell in love with the music though.
I hope to have something much more polished and longer later on.The Music is by the Child Psychology
Most of the words come from the audio book version of Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Unconsoled read by the late Great David Case.

The line “the Street brawl had made my skin glow” came from an audiobook version of J.G Ballard’s novel Kingdom Come.

Paul’s Misreading Of the teachings of Christ led to Christianity

From Documents

Is not the ultimate American paranoiac fantasy that of an individual living in a small idyllic Californian city, a consummerist paradise, who suddenly starts to suspect that the world he lives in is a fake, a spectatle staged to convince him that he lives in a real world, while all people around him are effectively actors and extras in a gigantic show? The most recent example of this is Peter Weir‘s The Truman Show (1998), with Jim Carrey playing the small town clerk who gradually discovers the truth that he is the hero of a 24-hours permanent TV show: his hometown is constructed on a a gigantic studio set, with cameras following him permanently. Sloterdijk‘s “sphere” is here literally realized, as the gigantic metal sphere that envelopes and isolates the entire city. This final shot of The Truman Show may seem to enact the liberating experience of breaking out from the ideological suture of the enclosed universe into its outside, invisible from the ideological inside. However, what if it is precisely this “happy” denouement of the film (let us not forget: applauded by the millions around the world watching the last minutes of the show), with the hero breaking out and, as we are led to believe, soon to join his true love (so that we have again the formula of the production of the couple!), that is ideology at its purest? What if ideology resides in the very belief that, outside the closure of the finite universe, there is some “true reality” to be entered?(2)

What all this is leading to…New Film Posted

Here is a film called soraxtm.

It represents the first of a kind of fi

I want to be able to mix the visual with the aural over time in a way kind of like a piece of music or an essay.

I want things to repeat and come back I want every image to be there for it’s own sake.

I want to drive people out of themselves so they can learn to see where they are at

before they are dead

It’s got it all.

bits of thought coming out of there mouths

mixed on top of original sounds using

various kinds of photography and digital video

Someday I hope to find a way to render these films out to 1080p or more but so far it hasn’t happened yet

It finally all went together the way I wanted it to.
It is Multi-layered(I have always been interested in seeing or making a film with more than one visual layer simultaneously projected ever since I was read about Erich von Stroheim‘s Greed or was it some Abel Gance film that had like seven layers.)  I guess I must have always associated that as one on the truly out there concepts in film-making.
It’s got overlapping dialog like Altman had especially in that one film only in this case it’s from unrelated threads of dialogue.
It’s got tons and tons of the sounds I’ve been making from samples and virtual instruments.
It’s got a a large selection of my HDR  panorama’s .

The intent of the work is to begin to clear the path.
It is meant to be watched and listened to repeatedly
at varying level of attention

As far as the audio samples.

Various phrases and short snippets of different recordings were used.
Rick Roderick is heard from his Self under Siege series of philosophy lectures he did for the Teaching Company.
J.G. Ballard From his Kingdom Come Novel as read by somebody.
all sorts of other stuff.
It also has a few snippets of philosopher Slavoj Zizek.

New HD video “Lacan Hangs Up on St. Paul”

Original Music,sound design,cinematography,photography,editing soraxtm

I’m saying that because is it involves the use of some new tool and it finally feels like I had enough varied stuff to put something coherent together.  “If you fail to understand the precise point the film is making than you have not understood it.”

So the name of the Film is

You may wonder how this related to the material but given the constraints of time I have decided to construct a longer more ruminated on piece of “film” and therefore certain aspects may only become concrete after a few episodes.
You may also question the style of the video and my only comment there is that time is what is needed.  Time and huge embracing screens or isolation tanks filled with salt and wired for video.

Text by Slavoj Žižek As read by a computer(apparently).
It refers to the Phillip Dick Novel “Time Out Of Joint”
Which was a really neat book about this dude who does crosswords or some other mindless thing unawares that he is also somehow determining the launching trajectory of these missiles that are being fired at the moon.

Rick Roderick From his lecture series Titled””Self under Siege” lecture series”(I’ll note where it is next time i hear it if needed)

Man-It’s beautiful here
I can see the whole valley

Woman-yes and there’s our cottage down there
it’s time to go back isn’t it

Man-“Yes.
but we’re not going
there is nothing there for us.
ah the town’s empty no ones going back
there’s no reason to…none at all…

Such odd
such ridiculous houses”

Woman- “such ugly people I’m glad their gone”

Man- “Gone?

Where did they go?”

Woman-“I don’t know?

Man-“We’ll go back to town maybe next year,
or the year after that”

Woman-
Or, maybe the year after that

Man- Maybe?

c’mon

let’s take a swim”
